How can I gain a better understanding of the Panamanian university degree offerings?   

You can access the websites of all the universities in the country from the Directory of Universities at www.coneaupa.edu.pa through which you can obtain information on the academic offerings of each university and your access to them.

Do I need to take a language exam to be admitted to a university in Panama?

The official language of Panama is Spanish.  You are not required to take an exam in this language; however, if a student wishes to study in the country, they are required to know this language.

In accordance with Law 2 of January 2, 2003, national and private universities should guarantee that the candidates for any university degree, aside from Spanish, have knowledge of English and another internationally used language necessary to their profession.

Every foreign student can apply for a temporary student visa at the Department of Immigration.  Information on the requirements established by the competent authorities can be found on the Department of Immigration website at http://www.migracion.gob.pa/
